Calvary Christian Academy

We are thrilled to announce that, starting in August, Oaks Christian School will become a new ministry of Calvary Church as Calvary Christian Academy (CCA). We are so excited to partner with Calvary as both our school and the church seek to serve and glorify God through the vessel of education. Through this partnership, we will be able to offer greater educational opportunities to our students, grow and deepen our program, and provide our unique model of hands-on, Christ-centered education to more families in Charlotte.

This decision has been made with much prayer and wise counsel, and we have been blessed to witness God’s hand in bringing together Calvary Church and our school. We are confident that this partnership will only serve to enrich our school, bless our students, and advance our mission, all for the glory of God. It is the shared goal of both Calvary’s leadership and our board to preserve the core values of our school and maintain our emphasis on providing Christ-centered education that nurtures academic excellence, social and emotional development, and spiritual growth.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q. Will the school’s mission and core values be changing?

The mission and core values of CCA are consistent with the original mission and core values of OCS. CCA will continue to utilize our model of Christ-centered education with an emphasis on excellent academics, social and emotional development, and spiritual growth.

CCA Statement of Purpose: To provide Christ-centered education that nurtures academic excellence, social and emotional development, and spiritual growth, preparing students for God-glorifying lives.

Values / Education Philosophy:

Christ-centered: Christ is at the center of everything we do at CCA. We teach from a biblical perspective, encouraging students to develop a strong Biblical foundation and discover God’s truth in every subject area.

Academically Excellent: At CCA we strive to prepare students to flourish academically at the nation’s top colleges and universities. CCA graduates will be equipped to compete academically at the highest level.

Integrative: Our integrative approach to instruction engages the student as a whole. Students at CCA are nurtured not only academically, but also spiritually, socially, and emotionally.

Relational: Teachers at CCA intentionally foster meaningful relationships with their students, ensuring that each individual is seen, heard, encouraged, and challenged. Our smaller class sizes, co-teaching model and student to teacher ratio create an environment where all students can thrive.

Missional: As a missional school, CCA is committed to being and making authentic followers of Jesus Christ. Our desire is to create genuine Christ-followers who shine brightly for Christ in their community.

Service-oriented: At CCA we seek to follow Christ’s example of love and service to others. Local and global service partnerships provide students with the opportunity to serve others, and use their skills and talents for His glory.
